Overview of the Role
They are the first point of contact for guests and locals, setting the tone for a warm, professional and well organised stay. This role focuses on delivering attentive service while supporting the smooth day to day running of the hotel. Friendly, composed and detail focused the receptionist contributes to an environment that feels welcoming, calm and considered from arrival to departure.
Managing check ins, check outs, reservations and enquiries, the receptionist ensures guests are supported with precision and care throughout their visit. Working closely with the front house manager and the wider teams this role helps maintain a seamless guest experience and respond thoughtfully to special requests or concerns.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome guests warmly and manage check-in/check-out.
Handle reservations, enquiries, and concierge requests.
Provide information about the hotel and local area.
Maintain accurate records, billing, and basic accounts.
Coordinate with housekeeping, F&B, and other departments.
Support special requests and assist in resolving guest issues professionally.
Contribute to a calm, organised front desk environment.
Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations.
Support busy services while maintaining service standards.

Friendly, attentive and well presented, creating a welcoming first impression.
Approachable and confident when interacting with guests.
Structured and efficient in managing tasks, records and communications.
Able to balance priories during busy periods.
Remains calm and solutions focused under pressure.
Handles guest concerns with discretion and care.
Qualifications & Experience
Previous front desk or guest services experience preferred.
Familiarity with reservation systems advantageous.
