THE BIRNAM BEDROOMS

Our bedrooms are in the final stages of an extensive renovation, ready to welcome guests from spring 2027. A great deal of thought and care has gone into every room at The Birnam. Wherever possible, we’ve worked with Scottish makers, craftspeople and suppliers to create spaces that feel individual, characterful and rooted in their surroundings.

Warm, earthy colours from Argile Peinture sit alongside custom-made beds and handmade Glencraft mattresses, bespoke seating by Perthshire-based Original Chair Company upholstered in Scottish wool from The Isle Mill, and beautiful Ashbee & Stone bathroom suites and brassware. Throughout the rooms, handpicked Scottish antiques and artwork, locally made ceramics, and bespoke furniture and lighting bring their own stories and character to each space.

We’ve spent over two years carefully restoring the building, seeking out pieces with character and working closely with talented makers from across Scotland. Much of what you’ll find at The Birnam has been designed by us and made especially for the hotel, while other pieces have been found, restored or given a new lease of life by our small local team. Together, these details tell the story of the people, places and craft that have shaped The Birnam.

Canopy Rooms

Our luxurious Canopy Rooms are the largest guest rooms in the hotel, designed for a little indulgence and relaxation, or marking special occasions. Featuring a super-king bed, en-suite bathroom, elegant seating area, and thoughtful finishing touches, each Chamber is individually styled in an earthy palette inspired by the surrounding Perthshire landscape. With handcrafted details, antique Scottish furniture and local artwork, these timeless spaces make for a truly memorable stay.
